Obituary: Kendall Klar

Kendall Alan Klar, 64, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 9, 2026.  He was born February 4, 1962, to Marlin & Shirley (Wilken) Klar in Grundy Center, IA. He  graduated from Grundy Center High School in 1981.

He was married twice, first to Jill Collins and later to Janetta Miller. He was the proudest father of  four children born to these unions: Brenna, Matt, Sage and Sloan.

Kendall worked hard his entire life - first at Plastronics, then spending 21 notable years at RS  Bacon Veneer, followed with positions at John Deere and Iowa Regional Utilities Association. He  currently was enjoying his work at PCA in Conrad, IA for the last few years. There, he was proud to be  operating his new forklift, and he loved the camaraderie amongst his coworkers. He made lasting  friendships at each place of work.

Kendall was happiest when spending time with those he cared about the most - his children,  grandchildren and his beloved black lab, Sam. Together, they loved celebrating holidays, having big  family cookouts, tossing footballs around, cheering on sports teams and reminiscing. Kendall particularly  loved spending time at Kevin and Sandy’s home, where he always felt welcomed and cared for.

He was simple yet sentimental, loving his life the way it was and never needing anything more.  He could fill a room and could always make others laugh with the way only he could tell stories. He was  a true sports fanatic, a diehard Minnesota Vikings, Iowa Hawkeyes and Boston Celtics fan. He also  enjoyed cruising around the streets of Grundy Center, where he proudly lived his entire life.

Kendall leaves behind four children who loved him deeply - Brenna (Jeremy) Siebel of Hudson,  Matt Klar (Denise Bringmann) of Conrad, Sage Klar (Justina Eggers) of Cedar Falls and Sloan Klar of  Cedar Falls, as well as 3 grandchildren who miss him profoundly - Lucca, Tatum & Halin Siebel and his  best friend and brother, Kevin (Sandy) Klar of Grundy Center.

He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Marlin and Shirley Klar.

Funeral services were held on Monday, February 16, 2026, at American Lutheran Church in  Grundy Center, with burial at Rosehill Cemetery.

Abels Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
