Obituary: DeArgo Clopton
DeArgo Lawrence Clopton, 34, of Cedar Falls, passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025, at his home in Cedar Falls. He was born in Waterloo on October 24, 1990, the son of Neil Clopton and Nora Fetter. Although growing up in Waterloo and Hudson, DeArgo always considered Hudson his home. From an early age, his brilliant mind and creativity shone through, winning a pi recitation contest and showcasing his artistic abilities. Later, he became known for his amazing charcoal drawings.
DeArgo had a passion for skateboarding, rollerblading, and heavy metal music, finding joy and expression in the things he loved most. Fiercely protective of his family, DeArgo carried a sharp wit, a strong spirit, and a loyal heart that will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
DeArgo is survived by his parents, Neil (Kerri) Clopton and Nora (Buck) Fetter; siblings, Marquon, Nathaniel, Preston, and Tea Clopton; grandparents, Andy and Susan Ter Louw, Beth Clopton, Marge Turk and Randy Turk; two nieces; his dear friend, Chris Rudebeck; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Norma Fetter and Edwin Roy Clopton; and great grandparents, John and Leona Ter Louw.
DeArgo’s celebration of life was held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls. His burial was at the Hudson Cemetery in Hudson.
