Hudson Church Collecting Donations for Iowa Veterans Home

Community Church of Hudson is organizing a donation drive to support residents at the  Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.  

The collection will run from April 27 through May 31, with donations accepted at the  church, 226 Eldora Road, during office hours (Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and on  Sundays.  

Items will be used to enhance the quality of life for more than 400 residents living at the  facility .  

Requested donations include new clothing items, personal care products, recreational  items and individually wrapped snacks. Popular needs include sweatpants, T-shirts with pockets, body wash, deodorant, puzzles, handheld games and canned or bottled beverages.  

Organizers note that all clothing items must be new and that food items must have  visible expiration dates. Cash prizes are not accepted for bingo donations.  Monetary donations are also accepted to support programs, equipment and resident  activities.
