Tigers Deal Pirate JV First Loss 28-12
By Kevin Yoder
Monday night the Hudson Pirate JV football team headed back to Eldora in an attempt to avenge the varsity defeat from the Friday before.
Dressing only 17 players, the Pirates fought valiantly, but came up a bit short.
Following a first quarter touchdown drive by the Tigers, new Pirate Maddox Krizek fielded the ensuing kickoff and raced 70 yards to the end zone to even the score at 6 apiece.
The Tigers were able to add another score before the half, and took a 14-6 lead to the locker room.
The Pirates regrouped, and after South Hardin scored first in the third quarter, the Pirates put together their best drive of the night.
Quarterback Nova Lehr used his legs and his arm on the drive, which culminated in him hitting Krizek on a 23-yard wheel route for his second touchdown of the game.
That made the score 22-12, and although South Hardin added another touchdown late to set the final score, the Hudson Pirate JV team battled right down to the end.
