The Hudson volleyball team put together a dominant performance Tuesday, Sept. 1, at North Linn, going 3-0 and sweeping all three opponents in straight sets.

Hudson opened against North Linn and quickly took control, winning 25-16 and 25-15. The Pirates carried that momentum into their second match against Alburnett, earning another sweep, 25-17 and 25-16.

Hudson completed the night with a third straight sweep, defeating Cascade 25-17 and 25-16. The three victories improved the Pirates’ record to 9-2.

Hudson then traveled to Dike on Thursday, Sept. 3, for a conference matchup against Dike-New Hartford. The Wolverines entered the contest having won all 26 previous meetings between the two programs, but the Pirates were looking to change that history.

Hudson entered the matchup ranked No. 6 in Class 2A, while Dike-New Hartford was ranked No. 7 in Class 3A.

The Pirates came out strong, taking the opening set 25-17 before pulling away for a 25-18 victory in the second.
