Obituary: Scott W. Reynolds

Scott W. Reynolds, 66, of Waterloo, died March 30, 2026. He was born February 28, 1960, in Waterloo, son of David W. and Alice J. (Weidman) Reynolds. He graduated from Dunkerton High School in 1978.  Scott devoted his life to farming. It was a calling he embraced not just as a livelihood, but as a  way of life. The farm was a place of purpose and peace. It allowed him to spend time with his dad,  brother, son, and nephew along with the rest of the family, and many neighbors and friends. Beyond  farming, Scott proudly served his community through the Dunkerton Fire Department, where he  volunteered with honor and dedication.

Scott was known for his warm smile and generous spirit. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He valued his family, friends, and neighbors. He treasured every conversation, every shared laugh and every moment spent in good company - especially his morning coffee group and the Hudson group. Those who knew him will remember his easy-going nature, deep respect for farming  and unwavering loyalty as a friend. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his son, Patrick Reynolds of Dunkerton; his granddaughter, Reece Reynolds;  sister, Connie (Maurice) Busch of Allison; nephew and nieces, Kim (Kevin) Schlais of GA, Mike (Dawn)  Mason of Waverly, and Carrie (Mar'yo) Lindsey of Waterloo; great nephews and nieces, Kaleb (Kathleen)  Schrock, Ella Mason, Austin and Addyson Schlais, and Braxten Weidman; and great-great nieces, Lucia  and Mia Schrock.

Scott is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Craig and sister-in-law, Melody Reynolds; brother-in-law, Mike Mason Sr.; and nephews, Jason Reynolds and Russell Westendorf.  Celebration of life gathering will be from 2:00-5:00 pm Sunday, April 12, 2026, at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave., Waterloo with 2:00 pm Dunkerton Fire Honors.
