Obituary: Ken Trimble
Ken Edward Trimble, 73, formerly of Waterloo, passed away peacefully Monday, February 2, 2026, at the home of his son and daughter-in-law in Bettendorf, IA. Ken was born on March 20, 1952, in Oskaloosa, IA, the son of Harold Trimble and Genevieve Sharp Trimble. Ken graduated from Hudson High School in 1970 and attended Hawkeye Tech (now Hawkeye Community College) in Waterloo with a Registered Nursing degree. Ken was a production machinist at John Deere and Co. for 30 years, retiring in 2003. He also had a nursing career which spanned from 1985 to 2012. Nursing was Ken's love and passion, and he worked as a paramedic for Satori Hospital Paramedic Services and 3rd shift in the ER and ICU at Sartori Hospital in Cedar Falls.
Ken was more than a class act-he was an exemplary human being. He was always by his family's side as they worked through the trials of life. His presence, kindness, compassion, generosity, empathy, thoughtfulness, and unconditional love and support always meant more to the family than words can express. Ken was also a member of the United Methodist Church of Hudson and enjoyed hunting and trap shooting.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Kory Hogfoss, and sister Lana Trimble.
Ken is survived by his children, Tina (Curt Wyborny) Hogfoss of Marble Rock, IA, Todd (Lisa) Trimble of Bettendorf, and Tara Bevans of Waterloo; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; brother, Kerry (Kathy) Trimble of Waterloo, and many other family members and friends.
Services were held on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the United Methodist Church of Hudson, with burial following at Hudson Cemetery.
