New Garbage Collection Schedule Starts Friday With Cooley Sanitation

Hudson residents will begin a new garbage collection schedule starting this Friday, Sept. 25, as the city transitions to Cooley Sanitation, according to updates from the City of Hudson and Mayor Hector Baldiviezo.

Garbage pickup will take place every Friday moving forward. Yard waste will be collected every other Thursday beginning next week, while recycling will remain on an every-other-Wednesday schedule.

Residents should continue using their current garbage and recycling bins until Cooley Sanitation provides new ones.

The estimated monthly cost for service is $18.40.

The city is still awaiting Cooley Sanitation’s official collection calendar. Once received, the calendar will be posted on the city’s Facebook page, and printed copies will be available at City Hall.

The new schedule follows the Hudson City Council’s recent decision to terminate its contract with Black Hawk Waste and select Cooley Sanitation as the city’s new waste provider.

Hudson’s rescheduled Citywide Cleanup Day will also be held this Saturday, Sept. 26, from 8 a.m. to noon downtown near the recycling bins.

Cooley Sanitation will handle the cleanup.
