Matt Reisetter Nominated for Iowa House District 76

Hudson City Council member Matt Reisetter received the Republican nomination for Iowa  House District 76 during a special nominating convention held Wednesday, July 22, in La Porte  City. 

The nomination became necessary after Republican gubernatorial candidate Zach Lahn  selected current District 76 Representative Derek Wulf as his running mate. Wulf will complete  the remainder of his current Iowa House term and will appear on the November ballot as the  Republican nominee for lieutenant governor.  

House District 76 includes the communities of Traer, Dysart, Mount Auburn, La Porte City,  Gilbertville, Evansdale, Hudson, and portions of Cedar Falls and Waterloo, spanning parts of  Black Hawk, Tama and Benton counties.  

Reisetter has served on the Hudson City Council and is a nonprofit ministry leader, small  business owner and high school basketball coach. Born and raised in Black Hawk County, he  earned a bachelor’s degree in science from the University of Northern Iowa and a master’s  degree in leadership.  

He and his wife, Jen, have been married for 26 years and live in Hudson with their family. They  have four children, ages 22, 19, 16 and 12, and attend Nazareth Church in Cedar Falls.  

“I’m excited to meet more of my neighbors and learn how I can serve them well at the Capitol,”  Reisetter said after receiving the nomination. “The chance to represent Black Hawk, Tama, and  Benton Counties in the Iowa House is not something I will take lightly. HD 76 deserves a  representative who will fight for a more affordable cost of living and a strong agricultural  economy. I plan to earn votes in every corner of this district from now until November and carry  the voices of my constituents to Des Moines once elected.”
