The Hudson Varsity Dance Team will compete Thursday, Dec. 4, in Des Moines at the Iowa State Dance Team Championships, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Iowa State Dance/Drill Team Association (ISDTA).

The Pirates will perform three routines — Jazz, Pom and Hip Hop — during the annual statewide competition that draws more than 250 teams from across Iowa. Teams are divided into classes based on school enrollment and are judged on choreography, execution, difficulty and showmanship by industry professionals from across the country.

The dancers have been preparing since July and are eager to showcase their hard work and dedication on one of the biggest stages in the state.

Spectator entry is $18, and livestream access is available at www.isdtalive.com, where fans can also pre-purchase tickets, merchandise and digital event files.
