Hudson Girls Qualify Four Events for State

On Thursday, May 14, the Pirate girls track team competed in the Class 2A state qualifying meet at  home. The Pirates placed sixth out of 12 teams with 54 points. Hudson finished with 12 top-eight performances  and qualified four events for the state meet. 

Reese Hansen, Elle Gunnerson, Jordyn Rhoades and Mollie Hansen won the district title in the 4x800- meter relay with the fourth-fastest time in Class 2A (9:57.20). 

Mollie Hansen placed second in the 3000 (10:56.13), 1500 (4:59.76) and 800 (2:22.51), qualifying for  state in four events. 

Hannah Chardoulias placed fourth in the high jump, tying her personal record (4-10). Cailin Stickfort  placed fourth in the 200 (28.13), while Reese Hansen added a fifth-place finish in the 1500 (5:22.81). Ella Annis placed seventh in the 400 and set a personal record (1:05.06). 

Josie Messmore, Jayley Trevey, Rebecca Vidal and Teagan Honnerman placed eighth in the sprint  medley relay while setting a personal record (1:58.98). Jordyn Rhoades, Hannah Chardoulias, Elle Gunnerson  and Rebecca Vidal placed eighth in the 4x400 relay (4:21.45), and Rebecca Vidal, Jordyn Rhoades, Cailin  Stickfort and Jayley Trevey placed eighth in the 4x200 relay (1:54.23). 

Stickfort also placed eighth in the 100 (13.61). 

The Pirates will compete at the Class 2A state track meet Thursday, May 21, through Saturday, May 23,  in Des Moines. Reese Hansen, Elle Gunnerson, Jordyn Rhoades and Mollie Hansen will compete in the 4x800  relay, while Mollie Hansen will also compete in the 800, 1500 and 3000.
