Hudson CAPS Students Create Website for Field of Greens

By Jacob Culham, Student Contributor

Through the Hudson CAPS (Center for Advanced Professional Studies) program, a team of Hudson High School students gained real-world business experience while developing a new website for a local business.

Students Jacob Culham, Maggie Haskovec, and Sheldon Lange partnered with Field of Greens, the indoor golf simulator business in downtown Hudson owned by Doug Fabry, who transformed two historic buildings into a modern entertainment space.

Field of Greens owner Doug Fabry stands with Hudson High School CAPS students Jacob Culham, Maggie Haskovec, and Sheldon Lange.

As part of the project, the students completed professional onboarding, learned workplace expectations, and worked directly with their client to design and launch a fully functional, user-friendly website. They held multiple meetings with Fabry to understand his goals, gather feedback, and refine their design to reflect his vision.

The finished site, fieldsofgreensgolf.com, highlights Field of Greens’ leagues, memberships, and pricing, providing visitors with an easy way to explore all the business has to offer.

“This project helped us build communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills while giving us a chance to contribute meaningful work to a real business in our community,” Culham said.

The Hudson CAPS program connects students with local professionals to provide authentic learning experiences that prepare them for future careers while strengthening ties between Hudson schools and the community.
