The Hudson girls soccer team continued its strong start to the 2026 season last week,  highlighted by earning the program’s first-ever No. 1 ranking in Class 1A.  The Pirates entered Thursday’s NICL matchup against Dike-New Hartford ranked No. 1,  with the Wolverines coming in at No. 14. The night also served as ALS Benefit Night, as players  and supporters wore blue to raise funds with all proceeds going to the ALS organization and  show support for those affected by the disease.

The first half was a defensive battle, with both teams creating opportunities but neither  able to break through. The score remained tied 0-0 at halftime.

Hudson found its momentum early in the second half. Sophomore Tayler Junker  delivered an assist to junior Taylor Davis, who scored to give the Pirates a 1-0 lead. Davis  added another goal later in the half, helping secure a 2-0 victory.

The Pirates’ defense remained strong throughout, limiting Dike-New Hartford’s chances  and preserving the shutout.

With the win, Hudson improved to 4-0 on the season.

The Pirates were back in action Friday, April 17, traveling to Waterloo to face Columbus  Catholic in another conference matchup. Despite difficult weather conditions, Hudson came  out strong, building a 4-0 lead midway through the first half.

Play was delayed for approximately 45 minutes due to weather before resuming. The  Pirates added two more goals before halftime to extend their lead to 6-0.  A second delay in the second half ultimately led to the game being called, giving  Hudson a 6-0 victory.

Junker led the Pirates offensively with three goals in the win.

Hudson improved to 5-0 and remains undefeated on the season.
