The Hudson girls golf team played in its first meet of the season Thursday, April 16, at  La Porte City, competing against Union and Gladbrook-Reinbeck in a NICL triangular.  A young group took to the course, including freshmen Shannon Komen and Emma Sido  and sophomore Alissa Leary, all competing in their first meet. Although a third-place finish was the final result, the experience and confidence gained  made the meet a great success for the girls. Hudson scores were Katie Barber 70, Alissa Leary  71, Emma Sido 74 and Shannon Komen 90.

The Hudson boys were invited to compete in a showcase at the East Marshall Invite at  Glenwood Country Club in Marshalltown on Tuesday, April 14, which featured many strong  teams and individual golfers.

Junior Blake Delagardelle had a top-eight finish, shooting a 75 to earn a medal. He  continues to demonstrate strong mental and mechanical improvement in his game this spring.  Other Hudson scores were Tripp Thompson 87, Gavin Gunnarson 91, Ty Halupnick 92,  Preston Germain 96 and Preston Olson 99. The Pirates finished seventh in the seven-team  field.
