Drive 4 UR Community Raises $8,000 for Hudson Athletics and Habitat for Humanity
Bill Colwell Ford’s annual test-drive fundraiser reached a new milestone this year — a new name, a wider impact and more than $8,000 raised for local causes.
Rebranded as Drive 4 UR Community, the event brought in $6,000 for the Hudson Athletic Booster Club and $2,000 for Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity thanks to 200 test drives completed by community members.

This marks the 14th year Bill Colwell Ford has hosted the fundraiser, bringing the dealership’s total contributions to $85,460 since the program began.
“We’re so grateful for the incredible support from the Hudson community,” the dealership said. “People came out, took a quick test drive, enjoyed food, and in turn helped make a real impact for two great local organizations.”
How It Worked
• Community members took a test drive at Bill Colwell Ford.
• For every drive, Ford Motor Company donated $20 to the Hudson Athletic Booster Club.
• This year, Ford added an extra contribution — an additional $10 per test drive to support Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity.
New This Year
The event’s expansion from “Drive 4 UR School” to “Drive 4 UR Community” allowed funds to support not just school athletics but also a local nonprofit. The Hudson Athletic Booster Club has been a longtime partner of the fundraiser, while Habitat for Humanity was included for the first time.
Representatives from both organizations visited the dealership recently to accept donation checks from Bill Colwell Ford.
Community Impact
Over 14 years of participation, Hudson residents and surrounding communities have helped grow this event into a staple of local giving — supporting student-athletes, facilities and now safe and affordable housing efforts in the Cedar Valley.
