Catching up with 2025 HEF Scholarship Recipient Olivia Schoborg
Olivia Schoborg, 2025 recipient of the Lincoln Savings Bank and Pirates Pay it Forward scholarships, is currently studying architecture at Iowa State University. Some of her fall semester highlights at ISU include meeting new people, building new friendships, joining clubs (especially her book club!), and navigating around campus.
Olivia shared her appreciation for receiving two scholarships last spring because they've helped lessen the financial stress that comes along with continuing your education after high school. "HEF has helped me in my goals to study architecture and further my education. These scholarships are important in helping students from smaller towns, like ours, to be able to attend college or a trade school with less of a financial burden," she stated. When asked about advice for current Hudson students, Olivia encouraged students to get outside their comfort zones. College is a big change, but when you put yourself out there by talking to everyone, attending campus events, and branching out from what's comfortable, the adjustment to college life becomes a little easier.
All Hudson seniors and current college students are encouraged to apply for the 2026 HEF scholarships.
They must be submitted on Canvas by Thursday, February 12th, 2026. The application can be found at http://hudsonpiratepride.com under the Grades 7-12 link.
