Animals, Education and Ag Awareness Take Center Stage at Cattle Congress
The Discovery Program’s barn tours at the National Cattle Congress come to life each year when farm animals are brought to the Hall of Breeds for five days of interactive learning. More than 1,000 second-grade students from across the area attend, getting a close-up look at livestock thanks to generous donations from Hawkeye Community College’s Agriculture Department and local farmers. The animals are housed in the Hall of Breeds and cared for by Hawkeye ag students throughout the week.
In the pictures below, you can catch up on all the entries and livestock brought from our Hudson participants and volunteers!
